The Water Cooler Service

Unfortunately in Australia, we don't have the best practice and regulation when it comes to sanitisation of water coolers. Water Cooler Sanitisation KitAlthough there are some loose guidelines, water cooler companies can basically get away with what they want.

At Water Coolers Melbourne and EasyWater we believe that keeping the units clean, sanitised and sterilised should be to the very best standard. That's why we adopt the European model and conduct our sanitisation based on the EPDWA (European Point of Use Drinking Water Association) guidelines.

How much extra does it cost?

Nothing.

Yes,  that's right - nothing. All the servicing costs are built into the price therefore you don't need to worry about extra charges. In fact, we don't have any extra charges so if you want an additional service or your water cooler moved, then just tell us and we will organise - all for free. Our staff are just a phone call away.

What's Involved In Sanitising?cleaning

Basically your water cooler gets cleaned thoroughly - inside and out. Obviously there are many small waterways and inaccessible areas within your water cooler and there are several ways that we clean these areas. Firstly, we will scrub our your tanks,  we will then disinfect and also sterilise your cooler throughout. We use state of the art ozone sterilisers which pump ozone gas throughout your water cooler which gets into every 'nook and cranny'. Ozone is one of the most effect sterilisers around, it attacks and kills bacteria and unwanted organisms.

Why Do We Sanitise?

Best Service

We sanitise to keep 'Biofilm' under control. Biofilm is a thin slimy layer that builds on surfaces within water over time. Formation of a Biofilm begins with the attachment of free-floating micro-organisms to a surface. The Biofilm multiplies over time with this bacteria and eventually disperses itself throughout the water cooler. The formation of Biofilm is a natural process but we still need to control it. Organisms are either already present within the water or are introduced from the air or other surfaces.

Fortunately our WaterWizard water coolers are closed systems, this means that the introduction of bacteria and micro-organisms is kept to a minimum and much less that old fashioned bottled water coolers. Also, because the systems use the local supply of water, there is much less chance of the water itself having bacteria. (leave a 15L bottle of Spring Water in a warm, sunlit area and after a short time you'll see the water go green!).

What HSanitisationappens If We Don't Sanitise?

Biofilm builds up in the taps and within the cooler. After 3 months this will build up and start to affect your water.

Within this Biofilm the chances of unwanted bacteria occurring are greatly increased which can be a hygiene issue and seriously affect the quality and taste of your water.

It seems obvious but you'd be amazed how many people would prefer just to buy a water cooler and see how they go.

What about the Water Filters?

Our filters have been specifically chosen for the water type that we have in Melbourne. There is a multi-stage filtration system that involves removing any unwanted impurities, sediments, tastes and odours. Depending on your service agreement that you choose we will generally change your water filters every 6 months. We can however do this more or less as you choose.
